Introducing Style 3001 Panel Dress Pattern February 03 2018, 0 Comments

Style 3001  is a versatile Panel Dress that be worn for work, shopping and meeting friends or going to dinner and special occasions.

My design purpose was to create a flattering silhouette that sews up well and can be worn for different occasions just by changing the fabric. It goes well either in a plain coloured fabric or a print one. You can choose to highlight the front panel lines by using a trim, piping or topstitching.

The semi-fitted panel dress is fully lined and has cap sleeve and sleeveless versions.  The cap sleeve consist of two pattern pieces which gives the sleeve its great shape. The pattern has been drafted using a "D" cup, so it great for  "C, D & DD" cups.

I really liked the lace effect on this stretch cotton print. And the medium sized print, which makes it easy to match the pattern pieces. The cotton print has a pattern repeat of width 42cm (16 ½“) and length of 61.5cm (24 ¼“).

Because of the print, I selected to highlight the design lines with a navy gimp trim. This was easily done by sewing a zig zag stitch over the trim.

Have fun choosing the fabric for what occasion or purpose you want the dress for.  It can be a great little black or red, dress for special occasions in a crepe with satin piping down the front design lines or a crepe dress with lace cap sleeves.

Alternatively play it down as a casual dress with cotton, chambray or lightweight denim with topstitching on the front design lines.    With the different fabric options available you can make multiple dresses for your wardrobe.
